Letters To Our Community

At Pine Tree Patriots, we believe in keeping our community informed and engaged. Our Letters to Our Community page is where we share updates, insights, and community-driven perspectives on key issues affecting Maine. These letters address concerns about government actions, policy decisions, and other topics that impact our way of life—while encouraging conversation about how we, as a community, can respond to these issues.

We encourage open discussion, critical thinking, and participation. Stay informed, stay connected, and together, we can continue the conversation and help shape Maine’s future.

Most importantly, we encourage our community to take action by reaching out to legislators and advocating for fiscal responsibility.

Support for Moratorium on Offshore Wind Farms

In this letter, we express our support for President-elect Donald Trump’s call for a moratorium on offshore wind farms in Maine. We highlight concerns about the impact on Maine’s scenic coastline, tourism, and lobster fishing industry, which generated over $464 million in 2023. Additionally, we address the environmental risks, including potential harm to marine life and ecosystems, as well as safety concerns following turbine failures like the one in Nantucket. The high costs of offshore wind projects and the risk of inefficient energy solutions further justify a pause for thorough assessment. We urge our community to stay engaged as we prepare additional resources to help you take action.
